Luke’s Happy Tail: Now Known as Louie
Sometimes, the perfect family comes along—and sometimes they come with the sweetest surprise.
Luke has officially found his forever home with Kelly, Chris, their sons Owen and Luke, and their playful 3-year-old Lab mix, Summer. While there was one little twist after adoption, it may be our favorite part of the story.
Because the family already has an eight-year-old named Luke, they decided to rename their new Labrador Louie. But before they did, young Luke sweetly offered to change his own name so the dog could keep his! We think that says everything about how excited this family was to welcome their newest member.
Louie now has everything a Labrador could dream of: a large fenced yard to explore, an above-ground pool to supervise (or maybe someday splash around near!), and an energetic pair of boys who couldn’t wait to show him every inch of his new home.
According to Kelly, the adventure was a success.
“Louie slept like a rock last night as the boys wore him out showing him around.”
After all the excitement of his first day home, Louie settled in beautifully, proving he already feels safe, loved, and right where he belongs.
