A New Best Friend for Every Adventure

Some dogs come into your life at just the right time—and for Brandi and Dave, that dog is Ace.

After welcoming their beloved Sadie through CILRA in 2015 and saying goodbye to her in 2024, the family knew the love of a rescue dog was something truly special. More recently, Dave also lost his faithful fishing buddy, Finn, leaving an empty passenger seat on every outdoor adventure.

Then came Ace.

From the moment they met, it was clear this was meant to be. As his foster shared, Ace had some big paw prints to follow, but he was determined to make an impression. Before long, he was eagerly showing off his commands for Dave—especially when treats were involved! His intelligence, eagerness to learn, and happy personality quickly won everyone over.

Now Ace is settling into his forever home with Brandi and Dave, along with his new American Bulldog sister, Darlene—the resident couch hippo—and two feline siblings. Best of all, Dave is already looking forward to making Ace his new travel companion, taking him on fishing trips and outdoor adventures across the country.

Congratulations to Ace and his wonderful family! We can’t wait to see all the memories you’ll make together, one fishing trip and tail wag at a time.
