Sadie

Meet Sadie — Your Sunshine-Loving Sidekick

Sadie is a sweet, soulful 7-year-old black Lab mix with a gentle heart and an easygoing nature. She adores soaking up the sunshine—whether that means lounging by a window, relaxing in the yard, or quietly keeping you company nearby. If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate companion who enjoys life’s simple pleasures, Sadie may be your perfect match.

Sadie is well-mannered, house-trained, and crate-trained, and she gets along well with other dogs after proper introductions. She’s incredibly food-motivated (a big plus for bonding and training!) and loves gentle affection—especially when it comes with a few treats and kind words. She doesn’t climb on furniture but will happily place her front paws on your lap to ask for love.

This girl has shown remarkable resilience. Sadie recently completed heartworm treatment and recovered beautifully from surgery to remove a few mammary masses. She handled it all like a champ and is now a bright-eyed, happy dog who hasn’t let her past slow her down. She’s currently easing back into normal activity and will just need routine veterinary monitoring going forward.

Because much of her foster time included exercise restriction, Sadie is still polishing some everyday dog skills—but she’s eager to learn. On walks, she can be strong and may occasionally bark at people or dogs she encounters, though her leash manners are improving steadily with continued practice. Indoors, she’s a dream: calm, non-destructive, toy-loving, and content. She sleeps soundly through the night, choosing either her crate or a comfy dog bed.

Sadie thrives in a peaceful, loving home where routines are steady and companionship is plentiful. She’s the kind of dog who will quietly enrich your days—offering loyalty, warmth, and a comforting presence that makes a house feel like home.
